Local area

Situated close to London's largest marina, Surrey Quays has quantities of facilities available. The shopping centre, due to be regenerated, has a variety of popular restaurants and shops. Close by there is also Surrey Quays Leisure Park which consists of an Odeon cinema, a Hollywood Bowl bowling alley and a Gala Bingo along with more restaurants.

Also rich in heritage, Surrey Quays still maintains its maritime connections with Greenland Dock Pier, providing great links to Central London, via the Thames Clippers, where you can enjoy the hustle and bustle of the City. Marine Wharf site was originally a shipyard where warships were built, this later became part of London's Docklands.

During the late 1980s and early 1990s an extensive programme of regeneration took place with thousands of new homes being built, ranging from large apartment complexes to individual detached housing. The area was also given a number of attractions for new residents and visitors alike, including the Russia Dock Woodland wildlife reserve, and the Surrey Docks Watersports Centre.
